Krista Gessler is a board-certified nurse practitioner who has been an integral part of Smyrna Pulmonary & Sleep Associates since 2016. With a strong background in critical care and a passion for pulmonary and sleep medicine, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to her patients.

Krista began her nursing career in 2011 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University. She worked as a critical care nurse for more than five years before pursuing advanced training and earning her Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

At SPSA, Krista provides care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, evaluating and managing patients with a wide range of pulmonary and sleep conditions. She also cares for critically ill patients in the hospital and has special clinical interests in lung nodule evaluation, lung cancer screening, and improving early diagnosis and treatment for patients at risk of lung cancer.

Krista is known for her compassionate approach, clinical expertise, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. She takes pride in helping patients breathe easier and live healthier lives.

A native of Manchester, Tennessee, Krista lives there with her husband and two children. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and being active in her community.
