Tamekia Bougard

Tamekia began her nursing career in 2010 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University Montgomery. She developed a strong clinical foundation as a registered nurse, including her experience in the intensive care unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she cared for patients with complex and critical conditions.

She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Middle Tennessee State University in 2016, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and later earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Samford University. She is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

In addition to her clinical work, Tamekia is dedicated to advancing the nursing profession through education. She teaches associate degree nursing students in Alabama, where she helps prepare future nurses with strong clinical judgment and compassionate care.

Tamekia first joined Smyrna Pulmonary & Sleep Associates in 2017 and, after a brief time away, is pleased to return to the practice. She is committed to providing patient-centered care in pulmonary and sleep medicine, supporting individuals with lung conditions and sleep disorders through evidence-based, compassionate treatment.
